King Herod is a type of the antichrist. The antichrist is powered by Satan and will be revealed during the period of time known as the Great Tribulation. To recognize symbols and types of the antichrist in the Bible, all the characteristics of the symbols and types of the antichrist found in the Bible can be analyzed. There are 3 generations of Herod featured in the New Testament who were types of the antichrist. These include Herod the Great, his son, Herod the Tetrarch of Galilee and his grandson, Herod of Acts 12. All three of these kings were contrary to Christ and His people and possess characteristics of the other types and symbols of the antichrist found in the Bible.
