High places are mentioned many places in the Bible. They are especially prominent in the Old Testament. They were used as a place of spiritual worship by heathen nations. But, God’s church of the Old Testament (Israel) also built these places as well. It is because of these, in part, that Israel was scattered and Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 B.C.
