Everlasting Destruction – What it Means

The Bible teaches that there is a Last Day destruction by fire. On the Last Day, there will be Judgment. This judgment is described in a variety of ways. A person is made up of three parts: spirit, soul and body. The spirit is what connects us to God. The soul is what connects us to God’s creation. The body is what functions in God’s creation. Bodies and souls of the unsaved are destroyed on Judgment Day. Fire points to this destruction. The souls are destroyed because there is no place for them in the new heavens / new hearth. The spirits of the unsaved are eternally separated from God in outer darkness. Eternal fire and outer darkness are symbolic of what happens to the unsaved spirits.
