The Number of the Beast

What is the significance of the number of the Beast, 666?  This number has caused extensive confusion and erroneous beliefs.  Much of the error concerning this number comes from the belief that Rev 13:18 teaches that one must ‘count’ or add up the individual number values of the letters of the Beast’s name (also known as Gematria).  Gematria is the method that is used by taken the individual alphabet letter number values and then adding them together to come to a conclusion of the overall summed number that belongs to each name.  Please review the YouTube video below or the following study to explore the truth of 666.  In the final analysis the number 6 should be interpreted as the number of man’s work.  The number 666 would be the sum of man’s work of promoting the kingdom of Satan, which is also known as the Satanic trinity (dragon, beast, false prophet).

7th Day is a Symbol for Salvation

  • 6 – the number of work (e.g., 6 days of creation, works versus grace – Heb 3-4)
    • Three sixes – Satanic Trinity of Revelation (Dragon, Beast, False Prophet)
  • Entering the rest of the 7th day is salvation
  • Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (Heb 4:1-11)
  • Man carrying sticks on the Sabbath day condemned:
    • And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. (Num 15:32-36)
  • 7th Day – a type of salvation:
    • Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exo 20:8-11)
    • Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. (Exo 35:2)
    • Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day. (Deu 5:12-15)
    • And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day. (Deu 15:15)
    • Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. (Exo 23:12)
    • Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. (Exo 31:15-16)

7th Year is a Year of Rest (salvation)

  • The 7th Year in the Bible
    • Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD. Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. (Lev 25:2-4)
    • And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof: But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard. (Exo 23:10-11)
    • Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying, At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear. And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name: (Jer 34:13-15)
    • At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD’S release. Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release; Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee. And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty: Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day. (Deu 15:1-15)

But if he sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it shall be abated from thy estimation. read more.

And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant: But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile: And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

Jeremiah 34:8-9

This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them; That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

Luke 4:18-19

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Isaiah 61:1-2

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

6 – Number of Man’s Work

  • Mankind Created on the 6th Day
    • … God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them … And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen 1:27, 31)
  • Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work (Exo 20:9)

Six Days a Man ought to Work

Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
(Exo 20:9)

Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
(Exo 23:12)

Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
(Exo 31:15)

Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
(Exo 34:21)

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
(Exo 35:2)

Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
(Lev 23:3)

Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
(Deu 5:13)

Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.
(Deu 16:8)

Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:
(1Ch 23:4)

And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to be bearers of burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people a work.
(2Ch 2:18)

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
(Luk 13:14)

Why Three Sixes – Satanic Trinity – 666

  • 666 – Three sixes – Satanic trinity of Rev 13 (Dragon, Beast, False Prophet)
    • 6 – the number of work – e.g. – 6 days of creation – Gen 1, Ex 20:11, 20:9, 23:10, Lk 23:44, John 19:14-18, Mat 20:5, Acts 10:9
    • Three sixes – parallel to Satanic Trinity (imitation of true Trinity)
    • The False gospel of works salvation – Phil 3:13, 1 Timothy 1:19-20, Gal 1:6-9, 5:2-4, 10, 2 Cor 11:3-15, Luke 21:8, Rev 13, Jude, Mat 6:15-22,2 Thess 2:11-12, Mk 11:12-19 (robbers John 10, Acts 20:29-30), Acts 13:6-12, Rev 17 -18, Mat 23, Rev 2:14-15, 20 -24, 1 Cor 3:10 -21, Acts 15:1, Gal 3:4-5, Gal 4:8-15, 1:1-5:15 (especially 5:2), Lev 10:1-2, Num 16, 1 Sam 2:12-29, Judges 17:7-13, 18, Neh 13:29, 2 Chr 24:5-7, Ezra 2:61-62, 9:1-2, 10:18-24, Neh 13:4-13, 28-29, 1 Cor 11:4, Lk 11:52, Mat 23:13, 15
  • Three sixes:
    • Satanic trinity (imitation of the triune God) – Dragon, Beast and False Prophet
    • Satan / Beast seek to be worshipped as God:
      • Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2Th 2:4)
      • … all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast … (Rev 13:3-4)
      • Magnified himself even to the prince of the host (Christ) – Dan 8:11
      • And the king shall … magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods (Dan 11:36-37)
    • Work of Satanic Trinity
      • Lies, deception, false teaching, false gospels, false prophecy
      • Persecution of Christians
      • Promotion of idolatry (worship of Satan’s kingdom)

      • Against Jesus as Priest (attack on Jesus as only way to salvation)
      • Against Jesus as King (against the law of Christ, obedience to the Bible)
      • False gospels prevalent – sacraments, freewill gospel, church membership, other religions require work
      • I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (Gal 1:6-8)
    • The Gospel of Grace:
      • Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (Joh 6:28-29)
      • For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Eph 2:8-10)
