Throughout the Bible, Babylon appears in many different places and contexts. Notably, Babylon was the empire that took Judah captive and destroyed Jerusalem in 586 B.C. But, Babylon is a symbolic reference to a Great City in the Book of Revelation. This great city commits harlotry with the world.
